Three Orona solutions have been installed in the “best building in Scotland”.
The Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries has been awarded by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland's (RIAS) with the Andrew Doolan prize from a shortlist of 12 projects. This award is the most important architectural prize in the UK.
This library was first opened in 1883 and was the world's first Carnegie Library. From 2014 to 2017 it has been modernised and as part of the development, three Orona solutions were installed: one Orona 3G 2018 lift with a capacity of 33 persons, one Orona 3G 2015 lift with a capacity of 13 and one Orona C2000 platform lift.
Orona UK has worked hard in collaboration with Edinburgh-based Richard Murphy Architects in order to achieve an appealing design adapted to the modern style of the library whilst also achieving durability requirements to suit the application incorporating Orona 3G aesthetic finishes.
